Family Support

Hello! My name is Mrs. Fullwood and I am the Family Support Co-ordinator at Co-op Academy Glebe.

My role in school is to provide support, advice, and information. I can help with any worries that you may have in relation to your child’s education, behaviour, or well-being.

I can help with signposting to agencies for advice and for help with household worries that you may have.

I may not have all of the answers, but hopefully, I can help you to work out how to find them. How I can help or support you and your children:

  • Promoting family routines, self-esteem and confidence for you as parents
  • Promoting good behaviour at home and positive attitudes for learning
  • Providing targeted support with your finances, mental health, or daily life as a parent
  • Signposting and liaising with external agencies e.g. domestic violence support, support with alcohol and drug misuse
  • Assistance with benefit advice
  • Promoting good attendance and punctuality

If you would like me to call you please ring the school office and leave a message and I will call you back as soon as I can: 01782 234868

I look forward to meeting you!

Behaviour Tip

Beat the Buzzer

Morning routines can be difficult. Using the alarm on your phone or computer. Agree a time limit with your child before you start the timer and be fair. For example, getting up in the morning, washing and dressing before starting learning. Remember to praise and remind them along the way for the positive outcomes you want and give a reward if they achieve it at the end.

Praise and Reward

Praise all successes however small.

“I like the way you did….. Well done!”

Praise for effort:

“You worked hard on your learning today”

Again, always agree a reward with your child so they know what’s in it for them at the end.

Good Choices

Giving choices can help your child to be in control of what they do and can reduce resistance from them. For example;
‘Would you enjoy learning Maths or English first?”

‘Would you like to use pencils or felt tips.’

Good Luck!
