Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to Co-op Academy Glebe.

Head of School Welcome

I have worked in this school for over 15 years as a key leader before becoming Head of School in 2023. I feel passionate about all our pupils, families, staff and wider community who play a vital part in our school and therefore I want to ensure our school is a place where everyone can be themselves and are supported to reach their full potential hence our motto, ‘Achieving Together’.  We all work hard to give our children experiences which provide them with a fantastic start in life and ensure they enjoy, achieve and develop high aspirations for their future to enable them to THRIVE.

Children have just one childhood; we believe their primary school experience should be magical and wondrous, filled with inspirational and unforgettable learning experiences.  Our aim is to provide the best possible educational experience for the children – where they will develop positive and caring attitudes to themselves, to others and to the communities they contribute to. We have high expectations of all of our pupils and of ourselves, by encouraging children to be independent, confident individuals. Every child is recognised as a unique individual and are encouraged to be themselves. We strive to ensure our pupil’s learning is underpinned by the teaching of basic skills, knowledge, concepts and values. We constantly provide enhancement opportunities to engage learning and believe that childhood should be a happy, investigative and enquiring time in our lives where there are no limits to curiosity and there is a thirst for new experiences and knowledge. Being part of the Co-op Academies Trust enables us to work in partnership and cooperation with others underpinned by Co-op values, ensuring we work together and succeed.

Executive Headteacher’s Welcome

Within our Academy, we endeavour to focus on the needs of the individual and therefore perceive education in terms of activities and discoveries, which are purposeful, practical and challenging. This helps our children to structure, interpret and understand their experiences of the world. We believe that education should be a personal experience and through the provision of exciting and experimental first-hand learning situations, the content will be both significant and relevant.

As an Academy, we know that effective education is about a partnership between the staff, parents and the children. We believe in the active encouragement of parents to participate in the life of the school, which may be in several ways. Parents are welcome to visit the classroom and are given the opportunity to come to understand as well as experience the curriculum.

Our Academy itself is a family but we are also part of a larger family within the community of Fenton. This provides a wonderful opportunity for our projection into the wider community and we believe a school will provide a richer and more relevant education if links with the community are strong.

It is our shared belief that education is preparation for life and we seek to prepare each child to face life beyond the Academy with confidence. We aspire to set high standards for personal behaviour and self-discipline, with consideration, courtesy and respect for other people of all ages, races and cultures. We are concerned with the provision of exciting and quality learning experiences in a safe, secure and happy environment. We endeavour to achieve high standards in every aspect of Academy life by making the most efficient use of all the resources available.

Our principal aim is to use education to enable all our learners to reach and maximise their potential to help children to become independent, caring and critical adults who are fully able to contribute and know what to expect from society.
